Mackintosh’s Masterwork: The Glasgow School of Art

This is a new, beautifully illustrated and comprehensive version of a book originally published by the School in 1989. Fully re-designed, it has been brought up to date with a couple of new chapters and a lot of new artwork. The book is now full colour throughout.

This is a celebration of Mackintosh’s glorious building which still draws visitors from all over the world and of the School which has played such an important role in the British art scene. It also gives insight into a fascinating period in Mackintosh’s life.

Artists Biography

Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) architect, designer and artist, is today celebrated internationally as one of the most significant talents of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His birthplace, Glasgow, is central to an understanding of his achievements for it is here that the most important of his surviving work is to be found, all of which is publicly accessible.
