Art and Sunshine: the work of Hercules Brabazon Brabazon

In his day Brabazon (1821-1906) exhibited at the Goupil Gallery and the New English Art Club, and was a well known and much collected artist. His works are very colourful and sensual, inspired by music and travel. However, by the 1920s tastes had changed and his works fell from favour with buyers, his work becoming more forgotten over the years. It was not until the latter part of the twentieth century that his work began to enjoy a revival of interest and research. This catalogue accompanied a significant exhibition of Brabazon's work at the Chris Beetles gallery in 1997.
